Sadly, despite our best efforts, we are not always able to find all our dogs a home they can call their own. Neglected, abused and abandoned to a harsh life on the streets, the life stories of some of our ‘toughest cases’ are heartbreaking. The tough shells these mischievous "trouble-makers" wear often hide bewilderment, apprehension and fear.
While the search for suitable homes and fosterers remain an uphill battle, we will never make the choice to give up on any of our charges in our care. At our ASD Canine Rehoming Centre (ACRC), many of these dogs await their forever home after they have recovered from their harrowing ordeal out in the streets.
Yet others, who are healthy, happy and very adoptable, somehow miss out on the chance of a good home because of their overwhelming numbers and the decreasing number of adoption enquiries.
The dogs on this page are currently only up for sponsorship and not for adoption. Dogs with health issues will likely be in our care for the rest of their life, unless we find an adopter with a big heart willing to cover their medical costs. We hope that the dogs with behavioural issues or under rehabilitation will eventually graduate to join the other adoptable dogs in the Dogs For Adoption section of our website.
From as little as S$50 a month, your sponsorship will go towards defraying the cost of your chosen dog’s boarding fees, nutritional needs and medical care. It typically costs us $400 - 500 a month to maintain a dog at ACRC. You are welcome to also sponsor a dog from our adoption pages if you prefer.
INDIVIDUAL SPONSORSHIP:
Individual sponsorship of our dogs starts at $50 a month, for a minimum period of 6 months. As a sponsor, you receive:
- A Sponsorship Certificate after 3 completed months of sponsorship with your name and photograph of your chosen dog.
- We can arrange a visit for you to interact with your sponsored dog if you wish to do so, upon completion of at least 3 months of sponsorship.
- An update on your sponsored dog (photos or videos) at least every three months if not more often.
CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP:
Corporate sponsorship of our dogs starts at $300 a month. Please write into us at sponsorship@asdsingapore.com if this is of interest to your organisation.
HOW TO SPONSOR A DOG:
For GIRO, please download and fill in the sponsorship form. We would require you to mail this form to us as the bank requires the original copy with your signature. Alternatively, you can set up digital payments via the following methods:
- Set up a standing instruction with your bank to our account OCBC 650 322 456 001 for monthly donations. Please then send us a copy of the confirmation along with the sponsorship form via email to sponsorship@asdsingapore.com.
- Set up monthly payments via our online portal at https://give.asia/charity/asd.
Your contribution will be transferred to another available dog in need of sponsorship if your sponsored dog is adopted or has passed away. We will however reach out to ask about your preferences on which dog we should transfer sponsorship to.
